Food: Sunday Runs All Day

Start with brunch: Dax Cafe (8am–2:30pm) and Cambodia Bakery & Cafe (8am–3pm) both open early. Sunday lunch has two of the strip's best-kept secrets... VietThai Cuisine and Thai Orchid both run Sunday lunch services from 11:30am. And the day stretches long: Hawke's Bay Roast serves till 9pm, Kippers Fish & Chips till 8:30pm, and Heretaunga Super Mart keeps the essentials going till 8pm. Nobody goes hungry on the WestSide on a Sunday.

The Repair Row Never Sleeps

Here's the fact that surprised even us: every phone repair shop on the strip opens Sunday. All six of them... Smart Mobiles, FoneMate, Mobile Paradise, Mobile Point, Phone Zone and Rapid Tech... trading from mid-morning. Drop your phone at Saturday night's barbecue and it's fixed before Monday's alarm. Sunday Self-Care

The WellWest end treats Sunday as a working day too. Freshy Barber Shop runs 8am–6pm seven days... a Sunday-morning fresh cut is very much on the table. The Cutting Booth (9am–5pm) and Saray Nails (10am–4pm) both trade, and Bliss Thai Massage goes latest of anyone in wellness... 9:30am to 7pm. End the weekend loose instead of tense.

The Sunday Browse

For the wanderers: The Line Gallery opens 10–4 (the art and the PixelArcade both), Whitcoulls matches it for the book people, Hustle Surf & Moto runs 10:30–3:30, and The Lolly Shop does a tidy 10–2 for the sweet-toothed. From this week the browse gets bigger: Hobby Lords trades Sundays 11am–7pm... cards and tabletop with the whole afternoon to spare.

The fashion floor holds its own too... Farmers, Hallensteins, Just Jeans, Pascoes, Michael Hill and Octave Mettle all open Sunday, most from 10am.

The Fine Print Sunday

A few useful oddballs: Specsavers opens Sunday 10–2 (broken glasses don't wait for weekdays), Spark and One both trade for the telco emergencies, and Bunnings anchors the trade end 8am–6pm for whatever the weekend project demands.
